Manga is the Japanese word for comics, and here refers to the animated film versions. This television documentary was produced for BBC 2, and was presented by Jonathan Ross.

"These visually brilliant and sometimes controversial films are passionately admired by their fans and reviled by their critics. This programme looks into their origins in Japanese culture, hears from the artists who create them and considers why they have become the fastest-growing video craze in Britain." -- (in Radio Times ).

"A good visual introduction and review of Manga". --Henry W.Targowski (in Mark/Space , 1995).

*note: That's all the information I have in my text files. Somewhere in my archives (which are packed in boxes because of moving) I have a video copy, but am currently unable to locate and view it in order to gather the rest of the production data.
