Adaptive Fuzzy System

"A fuzzy system that learns its rules from data. A human expert does not tell the system what the rules are. A stream of data feeds into a neural or statistical system and out come the fuzzy rules. An adaptive fuzzy system acts as a human expert. It learns from experience and uses fresh data to tune its stock of knowledge". --Bart Kosko (in Fuzzy Thinking, 1993).
