It's irrisescent green, crustacean shell a chitinous chipboard of circuitry. Prosthetic antennae -- tensed and coded wires tipped with sensitive nodes -- Probe the surrounding environment sending sensory data to its cybernetic heart. That digital beat -- ON/OFF, ON/OFF -- the processed flow of binary signals converted to states of affirmation or denial. Its articulated claws deal with tangible reality, responding to a pressure-sensitive existence. All that snapping and pincing evincing a tactile hunger for physical life. Too late you hear it scuttle across the floor. And a slow, hollow voice whispers in your mind: "Beware the fatal squeeze of enhanced mechanics".
