"Linda Jacobson recently joined Silicon Graphics as the company's first virtual reality evangelist. She previously worked as a high-tech journalist, consultant, and educator specializing in emerging technologies in communications, the arts and entertainment.

"The author of Garage Virtual Reality (1994, Sams/Macmillan) and CyberArts: Exploring Art & Technology (1992, Miller-Freeman), Linda co-founded and runs the non-profit Virtual Reality Education Foundation, Inc., which produces events and demonstrations.

"As the virtual member of the world-renowned, musical multimedia ensemble, D'Cuckoo (http://www.dcuckoo.com), she performs as a digital puppeteer, creating the character of 'RiGBy'. Linda also is a faculty member of San Francisco State University's Multimedia Studies Program, has contributed dozens of articles to high-tech publications, has produced content for CD-ROM and on-line publications, and has served as staff editor or contributing editor to C-Net Online, Wired, NewMedia, Virtual Reality: Special Report, and Computer Life magazines."
