novel, science fiction, humor, drugs

3rd novel. An unpublished manuscript (1980) which has circulated in rare photocopied editions.

"Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel to another star system? The years and years of silent space? Well, you wouldn't want to do it with this crew.

"Responding to a first contact communication from a distant world, a space vessel is sent on a mission to establish social relations with the unknown aliens.

"The starship captain, responsible for the health and safety of everyone on board, indulges in a steady diet of drugs... not just any old drugs, but weird stuff like smoking scorpion venom. Meanwhile, the resident scientist has a second head, growing out his back, which spouts totally incomprehensible passages of text (often twisted fragments of TV serials) sandwiched in-between the 'normal' (?!) chapters of the book. And all this in a time frame scrambled by indescriminate periods of suspended animation. Perspective-warping or what?" --Henry W.Targowski (in Mark/Space , 1995).

Totally weird.
