*note: Slipstream is a term originally coined by Richard Dorsett and defined by Bruce Sterling to indicate mainstream writers that have occasionally slipped into science fiction. This term could be applied more generally to writers who slip between genres. Or writers who are too slippery to label into any particular genre. [See the original 'Catscan' article by Bruce Sterling defining 'Slipstream']
