"Buckminster Fuller's genius is of the classical order; he is possessed by a creative spirit that engulfs him with a driving passion for the realization of his vision. The core idea that pervades all of the radically unique designs and concepts explored in The Dymaxion World of Buckminster Fuller is what he calls 'comprehensive, anticipatory design science', which, in effect, is a subdivision of the universe into a generalized mathematical schema. Human experience accumulates, and as it accumulates it should be compounded, so that from the compound can be abstracted those experiential data that produce initial breakthroughs in any area of constructive human endeavor.

"Real wealth consists for Buckminster Fuller in the extent to which man, at any given moment, has utilized forms of universal energy and in the same process developed re-usable experience. Because such a valuation of wealth is based on energy control, and energy by definition cannot be either created or destroyed, and because re-usable experience by the fact of being re-usable grows every time it occurs, it follows that real wealth feeds on itself and grows with use. Mr. Fuller estimates existing wealth at any given moment in history by determining the specific technological level of human production and supply then in effect in relation to the number of humans who could survive for a stated length of time without additional research or extension to that same existing level of supply and production...

"The Dymaxion car, the Geodesic dome, and the Dymaxion bathroom are but a few of Mr. Fuller's practical applications of comprehensive design science, the principles of which he has isolated from the behavior pattern of general, cosmic energy systems..." [jacket blurb, US hbk, 1969]

"Excellent coverage of Fuller's work and ideas... well worth it for the photographs alone." --Henry W.Targowski (in Mark/Space , 1995).

Highly recommended.
